Focus T25 Workout Review Day 8 Cardio

This is my Focus T25 Workout Review Day 8 Cardio: Darn my first mess-up!  I was suppose to do a workout over the weekend to make-up for my double Friday workout.  I had all intentions, but I gotta be honest my motivation was simply not there.  After working out 5 days in a row last week my body badly needed some rest.  I was simply burnt-out.  Also, I got occupied with weekend fun and house chores.  I know what you’re saying… NO EXCUSES!  But, I’m back on the saddle today.  Did the “Cardio” workout as indicated by the Focus T25 workout schedule.  I’ve heard some fitness trainers say that if you mess-up don’t loathe over it and beat yourself up too much.  Just keep going.

Focus T25 Day 8 Cardio

Focus T25 Workout Review Day 8 Cardio

T25 Cardio workout routine seems to be the base workout for Alpha.  The reason I say that is Shaun T wanted me to do a Cardio routine with my double day and I did again today.  It’s also on schedule for this week’s Thursday workout.  If you don’t love Cardio… you definitely will have to.  I must say that my first week I couldn’t keep up at all.  I did all modified moves.  However, today I did start to feel better, less sore, and more energy.  I did challenge myself to workout a little bit harder in comparison to last week.

I did about 25% of the movements non-modified.  My goal is to increase my fitness abilities each week.  I’m glad the soreness went away because it was challenging to go up and down stairs.  Now the challenge is the mental motivation to keep pushing play each day.  It’s too early to see any difference in the mirror, but I do notice a difference in my happiness.  When I finish a workout I feel a great sense of accomplishment.  I just keep envisioning what it would feel like to finish at the end of month 2.  I wonder what my fitness level will be like.

I am writing these blog posts to document my journey.  I don’t expect anyone to be reading them… it’s really for my own personal benefit.

The cardio routine is definitely tough on my knees.  Lots of jumping, lunging, and hopping.  However, the impact on the knees is not as bad as the Insanity workout.  Just gotta keep pushing play each day and enjoy the ride.

Keep blogging- I’ve just ordered my T25 discs and am reading up on as much as I can lay my hands on to psych myself. I know it’s going to be hard and I know I will want to quit. But then I hope I’ll think of all of you who got healthy, strong and skinny and that will hopefully mobilise me to continue! So, please keep blogging 🙂

  3. I’m reading too! I’m a few weeks behind you. U r my inspiration. I read your post to get an idea of what my next work out is going to be like… Good job and keep going!

Hi Patrice! Thanks for reading and commenting. Your feedback helped motivate me to workout yesterday. Knowing that people are following my journey made me not want to let you down. Appreciate it!

  4. Keep it going. How have your results been?!

    • Anthony Tran says:

Thanks Sarah I appreciate the encouragement. I can’t tell any major changes to my body yet, but I do FEEL different. I have gained some more strength and endurance and am able to keep up with the workouts. I don’t anticipate to see any changes until at least day 30. Nonetheless, I’ll take the small wins and keep pushing through.

  5. Anthony – I’ve been enjoying your write-ups and have been reading day by day as you complete the workout. However, I just realized you stopped. Did you quit the program or just stopped blogging? If you stopped blogging, I’d be curious as to your results. I just completed day 6….Thanks!

Hi Bruce! I’m so glad you’ve been enjoying the blog. I was continuing the workouts but had stopped blogging… thinking that nobody was even reading it. But, you were one of several people who reached out to me and asked me to continue and that got my motivation back up! Thanks so much… I’ll keep writing knowing that there are people like you that are enjoying reading about my journey.

Keep it going, I just started this workout too. I’ve been watching my food intake for a little over a month and you’re right, it’s tough. Food is the hardest part in my opinion, but I have gotten in a eating routine and it has gotten easier as the time goes on.

Keep it going and I’ll keep reading.

Hi Shaun! Thanks for the words of encouragement. This has been very tough for me too, especially eating the right foods. I’ve been focusing on eating more fruits and vegetables versus snacking on chips and chocolate. Thanks for reading. I’ll start blogging again now that I know people are reading =)

Over the years I’ve tried many ways to keep an eye on my caloric intake. Last Spring I finally came up with something that works great for me. I found the MyFitnessPal app. Just about any food you want to eat is in their database. I don’t deny myself any kind of food, I just have to put it into the app. Even after losing the weight I wanted to lose, I’m still using it and it’s helping me to not gain back all the weight I lost.

As for T25, I’m plan on starting it on Monday. Over the past year I’ve mainly done Kettlebell workouts, but I’m getting bored with them and want more cardio. I’ve also done some of the P90X3 workouts. I don’t like to do pull ups so I just do 4 or 5 or the workouts. I think I’ll try to do all the workouts in the T25 program.
